Continue to The Constant State →The Constant State is the framework through which my practice is organised.
Rather than a single project or narrative, it is an expanding body of work that constructs fictional worlds through objects, environments, archives and recorded histories. Individual works are presented as evidence of imagined places, allowing audiences to investigate cultures, events and landscapes through the traces they leave behind.
Working across painting, sculpture, installation, writing and digital media, I build worlds that unfold gradually rather than revealing themselves all at once. Meaning emerges through accumulation. Relationships between works become as important as the works themselves, inviting visitors to connect fragments across exhibitions, publications, digital archives and physical environments.
The visual language of museums, archaeology, architecture and scientific record-keeping provides the structure through which fiction is made tangible. Rather than illustrating stories, The Constant State presents evidence, encouraging audiences to construct narratives for themselves.
The framework continues to expand through a series of interconnected projects, each exploring a different aspect of the wider world.
